**Job Summary**

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients/residents by planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that cater to varied interests and abilities. You will work closely with the Activity Director and other staff to promote social interaction, creativity, and wellness through a structured program of recreational activities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Assist in the planning, setup, and execution of daily activities and events for clients/residents, adhering to individual needs and preferences.
- Facilitate individual and group activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, exercise, and special events.
- Monitor and encourage participation in activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of activities and gather feedback from clients/residents and staff.
- Maintain activity supplies and equipment, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Document participation and outcomes of activities as required for reporting and assessment purposes.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure continuity of care and holistic support for clients/residents.
- Provide support to clients/residents with mobility or cognitive challenges, ensuring their safety and comfort during activities.
- Assist with transportation of clients/residents to and from activities as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and improve service delivery.

**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in Recreation Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or related field is a plus.
- Experience in a recreational, therapeutic, or caregiving role, preferably with adults or seniors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations.
- Creative thinking and the ability to develop engaging and tailored activity programs.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or the willingness to obtain.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

**Physical Requirements:**

- Ability to lift, carry, or assist clients/residents as necessary.
- Willingness to participate in physical activities and assist with mobility as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities for extended periods.
